Languages in Brotato
Brotato lists thirteen languages: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Italian and Turkish. The DLC inherits the base game's language list.
Brotato lists thirteen languages, and Primal Dread inherits the list rather than adding to it. That is normal for a DLC: the expansion ships inside the base game's localisation system, so if your language is supported in the base game, the DLC's interface is in it too.
The list comes from the store page for both apps, and it is identical on each.

| Italian | Italian | Included in the Mechanize pass |
| Japanese | Japanese | Included in the Mechanize pass |
| Korean | Korean | Included in the Mechanize pass |
| Polish | Polish | Included in the Mechanize pass |
| Portuguese | Portuguese - Brazil | Included in the Mechanize pass |

The store page does not break the list into interface, subtitles and audio. What it gives is a single supported-languages line, and the DLC uses the same line, which is the only claim this page makes: these thirteen are listed, and nothing more specific is published.
Why the Mecha path is the localisation story
Patch 1.2.0.1 contains three translation fixes, and two of them are about one word: "Mechanize".
- "Mechanize" is now translated in all languages.
- French: fixed missing accents on "Mécaniser".
That tells you the verb appears in the game's interface, not just in patch notes. If the Mecha path looked half-translated on launch day, with an English verb sitting inside otherwise localised text, this patch is the fix. It also means the Mecha path's tooltips are the place where a translation gap was most visible, which makes sense: it is the newest system and the one with the most new nouns.
The third fix is Spanish-specific: "fixed the wording of stat modification effects and the Spoon's burning crit description". Both are text-heavy, both are the kind of string that reads badly when translated literally, and both were corrected within a day.
Three layers of language
Three layers, and they do not all follow the same setting:
Interface and item text. Follows the game's language setting. This is where the DLC's 40 items, 17 weapons and two Evolution paths live, and it is the layer that matters most for a guide reader.
Numbers and stat names. Stat abbreviations are the hardest part of Brotato in a second language, because the shop shows short labels. If you are reading an English guide and playing in another language, the mapping between the two is worth writing down for the six stats you care about.
Community vocabulary. Effectively English. Nearly all discussion, video and guide content for Brotato is in English, which is why this site is in English even though the game supports twelve other languages.
Does the DLC add any language content
No new languages, and no new localisation scope beyond its own strings. The content list does not mention localisation, and the store page's language line is unchanged from the base game.
That is worth stating because DLC pages sometimes advertise "new languages" as a feature. Primal Dread does not, and the thirteen-language list is the same one the base game shipped with.
Practical notes for non-English players
Item names in guides will not match your screen. A guide written in English uses English item names. If you play in Japanese or Polish, you will be translating on the fly, and the fastest fix is to learn the item's icon rather than its name.
The Evolution paths are named consistently. Mecha and Mutation are the two path names in English, and the game's own translations follow them. If your localisation shows "Mécaniser" for the verb, that is the same path.
Patch notes are English-only. The official notes are published in English on Steam. If you are relying on a translation, you are relying on a third party, and this site's patch table is an English-language reference rather than a localised one.
How to change language
Steam's client setting usually drives the game's language, and the game may also expose an in-game option. Changing it does not affect saves, achievements or the DLC's content: a run started in one language continues in another.
The one thing that does change is text length. German and Russian strings are longer than English ones, which in a shop UI with fixed columns can cause wrapping. Patch 1.2.0.1 fixed two co-op shop overflow bugs (mecha parts counter, mechanized weapon stat choices), and those were layout problems rather than translation problems, but they were found in the same interface.
Claims the store page does not support
It will not rank languages by player population, because no public data supports that. It will not claim full audio localisation, because the store page does not separate audio from text. And it will not claim that every DLC string is translated, because the only public evidence is that the Mechanize gap was fixed in 1.2.0.1, which implies other strings may have had similar gaps.
What it does claim is checkable: thirteen languages listed on both store pages, three translation fixes in the first patch, and the Mecha path as the place where localisation was visibly incomplete at launch.
For the patch itself, see 1.2.0.1. For the Mecha path those strings belong to, see the Mecha page.
